Government Access serves to connect the people of Malden with their local and state government by cablecasting informative shows designed to increase recognition of public officials and promote awareness and understanding of government issues.
Government Access includes programs produced by MATV, as well as local, state, and federal government agencies.
Examples of MATV produced Government Access programming:
- City Council Meetings cablecast LIVE every Tuesday and replayed throughout the week.
- School Committee Meetings cablecast LIVE once a month and replayed throughout the week.
- Local Election coverage.
- Chamber of Commerce Breakfast series.
- Beacon Hill Perspective with State Representative Chris Fallon.
- Legislative Report with State Senator Richard Tisei.
- State & Federally funded series including Better Business Bureau and Army News Watch.
- Timely Municipal information on the Electronic Bulletin Boards
Government Access on MATV does not include programs which are sponsored by individuals or non-governmental entities. Programs which provide political commentary or opinions rendered other than during the conduct of official business by a governmental body are aired on MATV Public Access .
