Mark your calendars and plan to join us on Thursday, September 20 for our Annual Celebration at the Malden Senior Community Center beginning at 6pm. This year’s theme is “MATV’s Got Talent!” recognizing the rich pool of skills and talent of our entire MATV Community. Next year, the MATV Board of Directors will host its first-ever fundraising event “Malden’s Got Talent!” so we thought we’d kick things off with the MATV staff showing off some of their special skills. Don’t miss this rare glimpse of MATV staff members revealing their hidden talents.
Everyone is welcome to the celebration in the dining hall from 6pm-7:30pm for a delicious multi-cultural buffet dinner featuring home-cooked foods from our members and friends, as well as samplings from many local food establishments. From there, please join us as we move to the auditorium for a fun-filled multi-media show involving video, music, performance, humor and fun. And as we always do each year, we will honor our volunteers and producers with special awards.
Finally, we’ll wrap up the evening with a formal members-only ELECTION for the open membership seat on the MATV Board of Directors. Any members who are interested in running for that seat should put their name forward as a Board candidate by emailing Paula Spizziri at paula.spizziri@verizon.net and cc: anne@matv.org.
MATV has 9 board members, 3 are elected by the membership and 6 are appointed seats. The terms are for 3 years and it is the responsibility of the board to set policy, oversee the financial aspects of the organization, raise funds and help guide the long-term direction of MATV.
