The 6th Annual MATV Week will take place May 14 – 19, a weeklong series of events celebrating community media in Malden. Malden Access Television invites the entire community to participate in any way they would like: attend a live event, be a guest or a performer on a show, help out as crew or a volunteer, or watch events on TV (some events will be webcast). Here’s the schedule for the week:
Monday, May 14, 3 -4 pm “Media Madness Day”. Youth from the Malden YMCA will interact with passersby on Pleasant St. while our live studio captures the fun for video! At 6:30pm, the final night of the Studio Production class will shoot their final project. All are welcome as a live audience!
Tuesday, May 15, 7-8:30pm Middle School Art Exhibit Reception in the MATV Gallery. Support our young artists in Malden by attending this reception. Meet the artists, view youth-produced videos and enjoy refreshments. Click here for more info
Wednesday, May 16, 7-9pm (Doors open at 6:30) “Video Shorts Film Screening” at the Malden Senior Community Center—featuring clips from “A Moment in Her Story: A History of the Boston Women’s Movement” with producer Catherine Russo, a Malden native and longtime activist and media producer. The evening will also include other short videos with an opportunity to meet and ask questions of each producer. Click here for more info
Thursday, May 17 – Skype Visit with Malden Reads Author Warren St. John! The image will be projected on a screen in the studio & the voice amplified. Saturday, May 19, 1-9pm “Open House Showcase” live TV show & webcast! Drop by the studio to see an 8-hour live TV show in action! Great performances throughout the day, interviews with community guests & video clips. Food & refreshments, behind-the-scenes action, and an opportunity to meet and connect with your community.
