MALDEN, MA - MATV, Malden’s Media Center is proud to announce that the local community access TV facility has won 7 awards in the 10th Annual ACM-NE Fall Video Festival that will be held on November 17th in White Plains, New York. The local program, “Ablevision” that is produced by adults with disabilities, not only won in the Diversity/Empowerment category but was awarded the prestigious “Rika Welsh Community Impact Award”. The other award winners included: The MATV Kids Video Adventure Workshop for their video, “Summer Vlog” in the School/Education Programming category. This is the same program that also won the 2007 ACM national award last July in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We are also pleased that Brent Robie, Anne D’U’rso Rose and Susan Lawrence won for “Window Arts Malden” in the Local Attractions category, the MATV Staff for best Promo/PSA, and Nester Dudley for the popular “live” sports show, “Around the Rim!” in Live Event. We are also thrilled that our own Patrick Gordon, who created MATV’s new website won in that category. MATV is very proud of its members and staff who have contributed in the production of these award winning programs seen on Malden’s local channels and on the Internet.
