Adam Weldai, President

 

Adam Adam is currently a graduate student at Tufts University majoring in Education. He grew up in Malden and attended the Malden Public Schools, serving four years as the non-voting student representative on the Malden School Committee. Currently, he serves as an elected member of the Malden School Committee from Ward 5. He has been involved with MATV in a variety of capacities over the years. Adam is strongly committed to the Malden school system and we look forward to strengthening the link between MATV and the Malden schools with Adam's representation on the Board.

Paul Weston, Vice President

Paul Weston Long time Malden resident and graduate of Malden High School, Paul is currently the Project Manager with the Global Business Reporting Group at the State Street Corporation Headquarters in Boston, MA. Paul is also a graduate of the MSF Program at Suffolk University and has a BA from the University of Massachusetts in Economics. He has a strong interest in both business analysis and real estate. Paul was appointed to the MATV Board of Directors in April, 2010.

Frederick C Williams Jr., Treasurer

FredFred became a member of our board in 2006.  Currently, he is the Vice President and Controller at Peoples Federal Savings Bank (“Peoples”), Brighton Massachusetts, a public bank, responsible for the bank’s financial reporting to the SEC and other regulatory agencies.  In addition, Fred supervises the bank’s finance department daily operations.  Prior to working at Peoples, Fred served as a Vice President/Finance at Danversbank from February 2007 through June 2011.  He also served as the Vice President and Treasurer of BankMalden from 2006 until their merger with Danversbank in February 2007.  Prior to joining BankMalden, Fred worked as an auditor, for nine years, at Wolf & Company, P.C. 

Fred received his Bachelor of Science degree, Accounting and Finance, from Bridgewater State College, Bridgewater, Massachusetts.  Combined, Fred has over 14 years of financial experience and serves as Treasurer of MATV’s board.  Fred also serves as a board member of Friends for Children, a non-profit, focused on helping underprivileged children through donations to various charitable organizations.

Paula Spizziri, Clerk

Paula A Malden resident since 1987, Paula Spizziri joined MATV in March of 2007. She crews regularly on Live on Tape and Giving Back. With Karen Yates, she co-produces the cooking show Neighborhood Dish (www.neighborhood-dish.org).

Paula graduated from Tufts University with a B.S. in Psychology. She also holds a M.Ed. in Human Resource Education from Boston University.  She is currently a freelance instructional designer working for an HR Outsourcing company.  Paula is also a member of the Association for Psychological Type, a group interested in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI ®). She is former co-president and VP of Programming for the Boston Chapter.

Paula enjoys skiing, gardening, Middle Eastern dance, yoga and, of course, cooking. She is the doting aunt to Charlotte and Andrew who, unfortunately, live too far away.

Francis Mattuchio

Francis Mattuchio for website Francis has been a resident of Malden since 1966, raising two children with his wife, Rose. He spent his entire working career as a crane operator until he suffered a disabling injury in 1986. He holds an Associate's Degree in substance abuse counseling from North Shore Community College. In 1990, Francis became a volunteer with Malden Access Television and soon learned all aspects of video production. He purchased his own equipment and has been doing freelance work as a video producer, as well as continuing to volunteer at MATV. Francis also served for a while on staff as MATV's Government Access Coordinator. This is his second time round as a Board member, serving on the MATV Board from 1995 --- 1998.

Maria Luise

Maria Luise Maria Luise is a graduate of the New England School of Law and has been a member of the Massachusetts Bar since 1990.  She is presently an Associate with Balliro & Mondano in Boston, a small law firm concentrating in the areas of civil and criminal litigation. In addition to serving on the Board at MATV, she is also actively involved with two local service clubs, the Zonta Club of Malden and the Junior Aid Association of Malden.

Marie Coulanges

IMG_0724 Marie has been an active MATV member since 2007 and was appointed to the MATV Board of Directors in 2009. She is a strong intercultural advocate who has held a variety of leadership positions, including the Forestdale School PTO Vice President, where she instituted the annual International Dinner for Forestdale families. She is an active member of the Philadelphie Seventh Day Adventist Church in Malden, where she is a parishioner and ran a weekly soup kitchen for local residents in need. Marie has been very helpful in organizing the food donations at our last two Annual MATV Celebration meetings.

Marie Recupero - DJ Nomadik

N1044786315_514104_4741268 Marie Recupero, aka DJ Nomadik, was raised in Revere and lived in Boston/Cambridge before moving to Malden in 2008. She was elected to the MATV Board in 2010.  She credits MATV as being her jumpstart into her involvement with the Malden community.  At MATV, she was welcomed by the staff, learned new skills, and met many people who are committed to being involved in the continued growth of the city of Malden. 

Nomadik has been a Radio, Event & Club DJ for over 10 years.  During that time she has hosted radio shows on WERS (88.9fm) and currently on WMBR (88.1fm) in the Boston area. She has DJed at various venues throughout the Greater Boston area, including private parties and occupying residencies at the Good life in Boston, the Milky Way in Jamaica Plain, Harper's Ferry in Allston, and Enormous Room in Cambridge. In addition to her DJing, Nomadik organizes, promotes, manages artists, and "provides quality entertainment for the Boston area & beyond."  She has been creating shows & events on an on-going basis since 2001. The first party (just 2 weeks after the 9-11 tragedy) sold out within the first hour at the original House of Blues (now on Landsdowne St.) Since then, she has gone on to produce various forms of cultural entertainment.

DJ Nomadik was featured in Boston's Weekly Dig Magazine as one of Boston's core DJs (July 2007). Also in 2007, She won Best Promoter of the year at Boston's M.I.C. awards. Additionally, Nomadik's open mic event at Milky way won the "Dig this Awards 2007" BEST club night - and recently Nomadik won 2009 Urban music award for best female DJ. Since her years in Malden, she produces a show on MATV called Soulkore Sessions, has 2 weekly entertainment nights (Mondays/Saturdays) at Dockside-River's Edge in Malden & is planning a hip hop conference this fall in Malden (location tba).  Feel free to contact her at nomadik@soulkore.com.

Christine Murphy

ChristineChristine Murphy recently retired from John Hancock Financial Services, where she was Director of a Life Product Support Group, as well as an adjunct math and computer professor at Katharine Gibbs School and the New England College of Finance (NECF) in Boston. Christine also taught various LOMA insurance and NASD investment courses at John Hancock during her business career.  She is an active volunteer at Malden Access, as well as past President of the Board of Directors during the 1990s.
